Inspired by a sunny afternoon in Nice, France and a visit with my best friend.
A Closer Look

A honey bee collects pollen from lavender blooms in Valensole, France.
Created in part of my 2020 12-Month Series, comprised of twelve 60cm by 80cm oil paintings, November depicts the setting sun cast upon colourful fall leaves still clinging to the trees while a light blanket of snow covers the ground. This scene is from the Rouge Valley where I have enjoyed countless walks through the forest with my family. I love taking cold landscapes and making them feel warm with a diverse colour palette and a bright sun. Unfortunately, the original painting remains lost after attempting to ship it from Austria to the US during the COVID-19 pandemic.
