Created in part of my 2020 12-Month Series, comprised of twelve 60cm by 80cm oil paintings, September depicts a collection of Hygrocybe mushrooms growing from a tiny mound of moss on an autumn day by my cottage in Haliburton, Ontario. Mushroom photography/foraging is my favourite pastime during this time of year, and every September I look forward to experiencing the thrill of finding perfect specimens to photograph, more elusive mushrooms to forage, and overall just spending time in the woods, getting some fresh air and dirt on my clothes.
The colors are vibrant and the quality is excellent. I got the print framed with museum grade glass (to avoid glare) and it looks fantastic, can’t wait to hang in my new home.

Brooke has drawn the tiny orange mushrooms very neatly and realistic. Also the background blur effect pops up the foreground mushrooms growing on the tree branch and also the tiny grasses!
